THE RESTORATION WORK
After 40 years of sitting in the family garage, I had my dad's 1967 Sunbeam Tiger fully restored.

ABOUT SUNBEAM TIGERS
The Sunbeam Tiger was born from the merger of the Rootes Group Sunbeam Alpine (a successful British roadster popular in Europe) together with the muscle of the 260 4.3L Ford V8 Engine.
Similar to the creation of famed Ford Mustang, the birth of the Sunbeam Tiger was conceived in partnership with Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles of Shelby American and Ian Garrad, Rootes’ West Coast Sales Manager and sports car enthusiast. Garrad, wanted the sales of Rootes’ Sunbeam Alpine to compete in the American Sports Car market but he knew it would require a larger engine and approached Shelby with the assignment to modify the Alpine’s chassis to accommodate the Ford engine.
While the Tiger’s introduction was successful in the U.S. Market, only 7,083 cars were ever produced (1964-1967). When Chrysler acquired the Rootes Group U.S. Division, executives couldn’t justify continuing to offer a Chrysler car with the competition’s engine so the Tiger was discontinued.
