The Restoration Process

When I called my dad and asked about moving the Tiger from Wisconsin to Washington and having it professionally restored, he was thrilled.

Over the years, many collectors and car enthusiasts had approached him about purchasing this “Barn Find” but he hung on to it with the hopes that one of his kids would have the desire to restore it.

I was that kid.

Breaking Down to Rebuild

Every component and system was disassembled, rebuilt or replaced with stock components - taking it back to how it was in 1967.

Major systems Restored

The original engine, transmission, gear boxes, wiring harness and gauges were rebuilt.

Bodywork

Road salt from Wisconsin winters had pitted and rusted the chassis and body. Each panel was fabricated with new steel.

Rotisserie Restoration

Once the metalwork was done, the art of sanding and painting began and the original color was applied - British Racing Green.

Chrome & Badging

Badging and chrome details were restored and re-assembled. Even the "N" in "Sunbeam" on the boot was returned to its original upside-down position (the way that came off the assembly line in 1967).

Custom Interior

Dash panel was upgraded to custom burred walnut while upholstery and wooden steering wheel was restored with original materials.
